Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Employment Specialist is to assist adults with disabilities in identifying employment
opportunities within the community that best utilizes the individual’s skills and strengths. The
Employment Specialist will work closely with the client in preparing for employment and the business
community.
• Provide on-going support to the client in areas of career counseling, job preparation
(resume/mock interviews), and pre-employment skills training.
• Communicate with employers to determine if current positions are a good fit for clients.
• Once a job is obtained, provide on-going support based on the client’s needs and employer
requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining all paperwork requirements by the Department of Office of
Vocational Rehabilitation, CEU requirements (various training, professional meetings) and
Options Unlimited, Inc’s internal tracking requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality and keeping files in a professional manner according
to Options Unlimited policies and procedures.
• Work closely with community employers, school districts, and other agencies in a professional
friendly manner to provide the highest quality of assistance to clients.
• Responsible for all other duties, as assigned by the Executive Director which are necessary for the
overall operation of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School/GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Must have a valid driver’s
license and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience with individuals with disabilities and excellent communication skills.
